Exhibitions of Model Ship

NYK Maritime Museum

Three large model ships in the permanent exhibition room were meticulously crafted in the 1920s and 30s by Momiyama Brothers Co., a model-maker specialist. While examining these works of art, nostalgically reminiscent about the prewar days of luxury cargo and passenger ships.

Model Ship “Asama Maru” (Scale: 1/48, built in: around 1929, Length overall: around 3.7 meter)

Model Ship “Kamakura Maru”(Scale: 1/48, built in: around 1930, Length overall: around 3.7meter)

*Kamakura Maru was renamed from her original name, Chichibu Maru, in 1939.

Model Ship “Hikawa Maru”(Scale: 1/48, built in: around 1930, Length overall: around 3.4meter)
